During the arrival in NAIA terminal 3, 11 Filipino seafarers of the True Confidence ship struck by a Houthi missile, arrives with crewmen at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Tuesday. The bulk carrier the Filipinos were working was attacked by Houthi militants March 6 as it was traversing the Gulf of Aden near Yemen. Two Filipino sailors were killed in the attack while two others who were seriously injured remain in a hospital in Djibouti City.11 Filipino crew members of bulk carrier M/V True Confidence receive immediate assistance from the government upon their arrival at the NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City this afternoon, March 12, 2024.
The seafarers received financial assistance worth P50,000 from the Department of Migrant Workers along with its comprehensive reintegration support, as well as medical and psychiatric assessment from the Department of Health.
Also, the seafarers received livelihood aid worth P20,000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and scholarship and training vouchers from TESDA.
