As part of the commitment of the Bureau of Customs to promote efficiency and transformation within government service, the BOC – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), on August 3 – 4, 2023, successfully passed its Second Surveillance Audit under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Certification by the TรV SรD Philippines.
With 21 ISO certified processes last 2021, BOC-NAIA now has 22 enrolled ISO certified processes and 11 ISO support processes – the most number of certified processes among all BOC Ports. The audit surveillance revealed favorable findings towards the Port with no “Major or Minor Non-Conformities, one ( 1 ) Positive Findings, and eight ( 8 ) Opportunities for Improvement.
BOC-NAIA District Collector Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa recognized the importance of having the Port ISO certified. Collector Mapa explained that as gateway to international travelers, BOC-NAIA is considered as the Bureauโs model Port to the international community and having ISO certified processes would ensure international recognition of cargo clearance and releasing thus promoting ease of doing business for all passengers and stakeholders.
The BOC, under the leadership of Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio, maintains its pursuit towards a modernized and credible customs administration which is among the world’s best.
